GT Academy is a collaboration between Nissan and PlayStation ® that uses the Gran Turismo ® game to discover potential talent for racing. GT Academy has been running 4 years in Europe (Switzerland and Poland, UK, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, Benelux, Austria,) and has recently expanded to the U.S. and Russia.
GT Academy Requirements
The participation requirements are: be a legal resident of one of the countries listed above, be over 18 years, have driver's license, no criminal record, be in possession of a valid passport and be able to obtain the necessary visa to enter the country where the Territorial Final is held, have a PlayStation ® Network account (an "Account PSN ') recorded in the same country of permanent residence of the participant, have a good health in accordance with the medical requirements Motor Sports Association, did not have a previous contract as a racing driver, not beforehand have a national license A or higher MSA or equivalent in any FIA recognized ASN not have competed on a national karting championship over two complete and have not competed in the Race Camp stage (or stages similar or equivalent) in any other GT Academy competition seasons.
Phases GT Academy Championship
First Step (GT Academy Europe)
The online score of the GT Academy is open to anyone with a PlayStation ® 3. The 16 fastest players in each territory puden access the National Finals. A maximum of 16 more participants may have access to the national final through a series of events Live Gran Turismo ® 5.
Second Stage (GT Academy Europe)
GT Academy Europe for more than 32 ranked first stage will access the National Final of each territory. A total of six winners will each participating territory of the GT Academy to participate in the GT Academy Race Camp at Silverstone.
Third Stage (GT Academy Europe)
36 compete in the legendary Race Camp, where only one will rise to the European Championship crown GT Academy and will be invited to participate in an intensive Driver Development Programme. The winner will be prepared for an international racing license before competing in Dubai 24h which take place in January 2013.

GT Academy 2012

Previous winners of the GT Academy
Previous winners of the GT Academy competition pilots are now. In 2012, Lucas Ordoñez (Spanish, winner 2008 edition), has played the European Le Mans Series and Le Mans 24 hours with the team Greaves Motorsport Nissan and a prototype LMP2; Jordan Tresson (French, winner 2010) He is contesting the World Championship Endurance FIA addition to 24 Hours of Le Mans with another prototype LMP2 team Signatech Nissan, Jann Mardenbrorough (UK, winner 2011), competes with a Nissan GT-R GT3 in Blacpain Endurance Series and British GT Championship.
