After his Olympic medals in the London Games and world records, Bolt signed today with Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., to enhance its role as an ambassador of GT-R worldwide. Bolt stated that "races are my inspiration and I want to help Nissan to become an even more exciting for all brand."
The first GT-R, outside series, will be painted in golden color, autographed by Usain Bolt and details with pure gold, will be auctioned on E-Bay to benefit the UsainBoltFoundation (http://usainbolt.com/foundation/) . The proceeds from the auction, which will be released mechanically in late October, will allow the Foundation to continue its work to create employment and cultural opportunities for children and young people in Jamaica, the country of the Olympic champion.
As part of its collaboration with Nissan, the athlete tested different units of the GT-R at the Nissan test track near Oppama, Japan. Their reaction times, acceleration capacity and other capabilities will be used to develop a specifically designed for personal use "Bolt" the GT-R drive.
Furthermore, Bolt will work with product specialists in a limited edition Nissan GT-R will be available in all markets where this model is marketed currently. Details of this project will be announced later.
Bolt, which was collected at the Narita airport in Tokyo, by a GT-R driven by racing driver Mark Webber 1, participate in global brand campaign "WHAT IF ..."
