Volkswagen presents the world premiere of the seventh generation Golf a car designed in Wolfsburg based on the innovative Modular Platform Transversal (MQB) that exploits their potential to produce new best Golf.
The new Golf is more spacious, safe and comfortable. Their weight has been reduced by up 100 kg, compared to its predecessor, which combined with its two new lines of propellers, reduce consumption and emissions by 23%.
The significant improvement in consumption is due to the weight reduction achieved by the innovative production system. Regarding gasoline engines: the new Golf TSI 1.4 with CV 140 power system and Active Cylinder Management (ACT), has a combined fuel consumption of just 4.8l / 100km (112g / km CO2). In the diesel version: the TDI engines are based on the CV 1.6 105 of which has a total consumption of only 3.8l / 100km, and generates emissions of 99g CO2 km.
Besides the new Golf includes proactive occupant protection thanks to Pre-Crash system, the detector fatigue and Front-Assist system, which features the emergency braking function in town, and anti-collision braking multiple series. The combination of both systems can prevent up to 25% of accidents involving personal injury.
The latest generation of Golf, a model of which today have been built over 29 million units, advancing to become one of the most innovative cars in the world.
