The Škoda Octavia sedan combines the advantages of a hatchback vehicle. In addition, the Octavia has grown in length and breadth, about their antedecesor. The new model is 90 mm. longer and 45 mm. wider than the second generation model. At the same time, the length wheelbase has grown 108 mm. The overall interior length of the vehicle is 1.782 mm, with space for knees 73 mm and headroom in the rear of 980 mm. Its trunk supports a volume of 590 liters.

The front of the vehicle transmits security and confidence with an emphasis on horizontal lines and the new situation of Škoda logo. The lateral aspect conveys dynamism thanks to the long wheelbase and the front shortened and a C pillar slicked back. A new feature is a strong dynamic line of windows in the rear doors.
In the back of the Škoda Octavia, lights appear with their distinctive shaped contour C. Order, defines elegance and space inside the new Octavia. Škoda designers have completely remade inside the vehicle.
Engineers Škoda have developed a multitude of systems of cutting-edge security function Front / Brake Assistant Emergency (from May 2013), Lane Assistant, which keeps the Octavia on course, automatic braking against multicolisión if accident, Assistant Driver Activity detector (fatigue) or an active pedestrian protection front. These systems help to prevent accidents and to minimize the consequences for occupants and other road users.

The GreenLine version of the new Octavia (1.6 TDI / 110CV) achieves emissions of CO2 only 89 g / km and consumes 3,4 liters of diesel to 100 km. In total, four petrol engines, all with TSI latest technology, and four modern TDI common-rail diesel engines are available with a natural gas version planned for later. Except for the relevant input option gasoline and diesel, all engines are available with Green tec version with start-stop system and recovery. The range reaches the top option, 1.8 180 TSI CV. Modern manual and DSG transmissions are available with all-wheel drive versions in preparation. It is also planned a sports version, the Škoda Octavia RS.
The new Octavia is up 102 kilos lighter than the second generation Octavia, thanks to a resolute light engineering, a progressive body design, the use of high tensile steel and a careful selection of materials. True weight reduction will vary depending on the configuration of each vehicle.
Comfort in the new Škoda Octavia
The new Octavia offers numerous new comfort features such as Adaptive Cruise Assistant, which automatically maintains a pre-configured with the car in front distance; the new Intelligent Assistant Lighting, which automatically switches to a thicker light beam and vice versa, increasing the comfort and safety in traffic or Automatic Parking Assistant, which makes parking the Octavia easier.
In the future it will be available traffic sign recognition within the package "Travel Assistant". Selection of Driving Mode allows drivers to configure certain characteristics of the vehicle at the touch of a button. Another debut is the panoramic sliding sunroof and inclined, a transparent panoramic roof that enhances comfort and well-being on board the Octavia. The new Octavia is also available with KESSY (entry system, keyless start and exit), the new automatic door locking and ignition system.
